Make your pool / snooker table pay!

When we say make your table pay, we don’t mean it in the style of an 80′s action movie hero, more in the 2010 cash-in-your-pocket style!

Here at Liberty Games we sell a great range of coin-operated pool tables, however some people prefer to have a more luxury pool table, or indeed snooker table in their establishment or house. These sometimes can be ordered with a coin-mechanism for pay-per-play, but not all can. So where do you go if you want to make some money from these great tables ?

There is the tried and trusted method of renting out the cues / balls, which does work, but requires the hassle of having to obtain security deposits, and we have known a situation or two where people have even brought their own cues and balls and just started playing!

One way around this and to give people a great playing experience is, in combination with our pool and snooker lighting, to install a light meter. We have several models here, which can all be found in our pool table accessories department. The one we’re taking a look at today is the SCT Timesafe Light Meter.

The SCT works by controlling electricity to the lights, and in return for either 10p, 20p, 50p £1, €1 or tokens the player is given a pre-determined (determined by you!) amount of time with the lights on. Simple as that. You keep the keys, and the cash.

These do need to be installed by a qualified electrician, but its a simple job and so shouldn’t be too expensive, and Liberty Games are happy to help organise someone for you.

Ok so you’ve got yourself a great new pool table, now what ? Hopefully (well definately if you brought it from us!) you will have recieved some accessories with your table including pool cues. However cues are like golf clubs, a standard cue will do most people and allow them to have a fund and enjoyable game, however when you start to get really good you might want to start thinking about upgrading your equipment to keep pace with your game.

Luckily Liberty games have a vast range of pool cues for you to choose from. These cues not only look great but play with increased precision and accuracy over the standard cues you may have recieved with your table, for example the Royal One Piece Pool Cue seen to your right.

However if you’ve got your pool table in a room where you’ve found yourself with not quite the cueing room you thought you might have, we also have a range of smaller cues to allow you to make those tight shots without sacrificing accuracy.
