About This Product
The classic Bally pinball machine with a split playfield and sumptuous artwork.
Medusa is a pre-DMD classic pinball machine from 1981, made by Bally Manufacturing. It enjoys a loyal following among pinball players everywhere with a complex layout and a detailed set of rules, but these certainly don’t get in the way of what is a very fast, exciting game.
Based on Greek mythology, Medusa tells the story of the Gorgon woman whose glowing stare could turn men to stone. Kevin O’Connor’s sumptuous artwork is likewise the stuff of legend, and this has to be one of the best-looking pinball machines ever made.
It may well be one of the best-playing machines, too. Perhaps one of the most unique game features is the upper playfield, which is separated from the main playfield with ‘Zipper Flippers’ – a Bally-trademarked feature that closes the secondary upper playfield flippers at certain times to create a new game zone.
The rest of the Ancient Greece-themed playfield features 11 drop targets and four bumpers, which you need to hit hard and often if you’re to build up points. Light the four Olympus Saucer lights to collect your bonus, hit the left-hand gates to activate the bonus multiplier and master the shooter lane skill shot, by contacting five rollovers, to advance your Gorgon Spinner Value.
With only 3,250 ever made, and a legion of fans desperate for a piece of the action, Bally’s Medusa is a classic and increasingly collectible pinball machine.
