Few pieces of furniture will create as much attention and admiration as a shuffleboard, whether it be in your home or in a public place such as a bar. And equally few popular modern games have such a long history. Shuffleboard dates back to the 15th century in England, where it became so beloved that King Henry VIII banned the game for its addicting wickedness.
These days you need not worry about a king confiscating your shuffleboard table – in fact, he would be more likely to want to join you for a game on this majestic table. At 18 feet in length, it's an impressive piece of gaming furniture, and is crafted in quality materials including a mahogany play surface.
Wik has updated the shuffleboard for the 21st century without detracting from the traditional game that has endured for centuries. This table features a top of the line 7cm thick mahogany playing surface. This is finished in a layer of epoxy resin lacquer, for durability and long life.
The mahogany cradle is complemented by an elegant and streamlined frame, which can be finished in the colour of your choice to match your interior décor or in a contrasting hue to really create a statement. We've selected a few colours above that you can choose from, but if you've something else in mind, contact us with the RAL code.
King Henry VIII was right about one thing – shuffleboard is addictive as you, your family and your guests will find out! At the end of the 19th century, shuffleboard was as popular in New York as baseball and prizefighting, and because of its cunning combination of skill and simplicity, remains a favourite today. The USA even has a National Table Shuffleboard Day.
But with this magnificent piece of equipment, you can celebrate your own National Table Shuffleboard Day - every day. Keep a tally of your game with the manual scoreboard. Quality pucks are included, as well as table wax to ensure the perfect, low-friction playing surface every time.
