Where We Came From
Liberty Games began life over 20 years ago during the summer of 1989 under the original name of 'Liberty Leisure'. Back then the business was a little different to the one you see now and focused primarily on the rental of coin operated amusement equipment to pubs, clubs and youth centres. At our peak, Liberty had over 2000 arcade machines, pool tables and pinball machines in continuous operation throughout the South East of England.
The Operating business was ultimately sold in 2001 and the companies resources were pointed in a brand new direction. With our rental days behind us a new course was set to become an on line supplier for the type of equipment we had become so used to dealing with.
The Liberty Games website went live in 2004 under the guidance of New Managing Director Jamie Stanford and with technical expertise of Stuart Kerr ( Now Technical Director). From the very start www.libertygames.co.uk provided the most comprehensive on line catalogue of amusement equipment in the UK. The website gave both trade and private clients access to a huge range of products at the click of a button. By 2005, 57% of the company's sales has shifted to the private 'home market'. In essence you could buy your home games room equipment for the same price a trade customer could buy products to kit our their amusement arcade.
The formula works and now on our 6th version of the website, Liberty Games is the largest amusement supplier to the home market in the UK. The company now ships worldwide and our foreign customers are also enjoying the easy access and low prices we can offer on these very specialist products. All products you see advertised on line can be purchased 24 hours a day and we provide a countrywide delivery service and technical back up. Due to our ten years experience renting this specialist equipment throughout the country, Liberty Games have also become market leaders in the refurbishment of second hand games equipment. Most notably we provide one of the only professional pinball machine restoration houses in the UK. The refurbishment of classic and current arcade machines occurs on a daily basis along with the re-commissioning of commercial standard football, air hockey and pool tables.
Liberty Games also provides all of the associated after care services for amusement equipment, if you require a pool table re-cover, the repair of an arcade machine or even just technicians who can relocate your equipment professionally we are here to help.
As a company, we are recognised by various industry trade bodies such as BAPTO (The British Association of Pool Table Operators) - responsible for the promotion of pool and the standardisation of the rules for the game in the UK. We have also been nominated and won a number of awards for our on line retail achievements including being chosen as internet retailer of the year by Sage Pay.
For your security the latest version of the website employs 256-bit SSL encryption for our shopping basket and industry leading payment provider SagePay to process payments.
