Product Description
Just how do you improve on one of the most advanced, high-performance tournament pool tables around? Rasson's seminal 7ft Apollo has been the table of choice at top global English pool tournaments such as the Ultimate Pool Championship, Mosconi Cup and others. Now it returns as the revamped, upgraded Apollo II - and it's dropping out of lunar orbit right into your games room!
Rasson have listened carefully to feedback from users of the original Apollo, and made a number of improvements. It's now easier to maintain, as well as faster and quieter in operation, keeping it well ahead of the pack. It's an evolved and solid choice for expert and amateur players in home games rooms, professional tournament halls and anywhere in between.
An all-new cabinet updates the shape from the Apollo, with a separated section that sits on top of the main body. The apron around the perimeter of the table can be removed, allowing access to the slate bolts without lifting the slate and top rail, or fiddling around underneath. This maintenance-forward modification makes life far easier for operators.
The ball return system is now faster and quieter, with balls rolling into a central ball tray and from there to the cubbies at each end. This reduces the amount of time balls spend travelling through the table and minimises the sound created. A new 'BJR' system for quickly clearing ball jams maximises game time. The main cabinet body sections are made from a strong, impact-resistant wood composite. A 19mm slate bed is mounted onto internal steel beams, which give the playfield a surefooted, firm platform. For precision fine-tuning, a 14-point slate adjustment system is fitted for the ultimate control over slate level.
The main cabinet is made from a tough wood composite with a black finish and aluminium alloy details, such as the pocket castings. The top rail is solid wood with an HPL veneer for comfort in the hand, and now has a textured feel - improving bridge hand grip and reducing grubby fingerprints. Countersunk pocket liners allow for easier shots from the corners, allowing the cue to drop closer to the slate. And what a piece of slate it is - a 19mm, one-piece slate made to Rasson's exacting tournament specifications and surrounded with Rasson Pro L77 cushions. These cushions are directly attached to the slate for a firmer connection and more precise performance.
The tough steel legs effortlessly carry the table aloft, and are fitted with easy-adjust levelling feet. Rasson's unique system allows you to adjust the level on each foot with a spanner without even lifting the table - saving maintenance time, and saving your back too. Under the object ball return cubby is a holder for the slick black triangle that comes with your table - keeping it out of the way, but instantly at hand when needed. The ball return system features a white ball separator which separates cue balls from object balls, and sends them to opposite ends of the table. Improved sound damping reduces the noise from the pockets and ball travel.
The Apollo II comes with the bare minimum of accessories. This allows you to build an accessory pack yourself from a vast range of options, without duplicating any premium cues or extras you might already have. It does include a factory Rasson triangle, finished in black and etched with the Rasson logo for a real matching aesthetic.
Also included is a box of Pureline Premium pool balls in red and yellow. These well-matched, weighted balls are designed for demanding players. Made to English pool spec at two inches in diameter each, the cue ball is 1 7/8 inches in diameter for compatibility with the white ball separator.
