Product Description
The Apex is a class-leading multi play arcade machine that offers thousands of your favourite games in one package. Depending on which machine you opt for, you can access up to 50,000 hit arcade games instantly.
All Apex variants come set up with Retro Cloud software and licence. This allows you to access a huge library of tens of thousands of games. Simply ensure you’re connected to the internet, and you can browse the library. When you’ve found your favourite game, it plays via streaming with instant access and lightning-fast control response.
The Apex is available in three distinct variants - the Apex Play, the Apex Media and the Apex Elite. Use the Features Matrix on the right to see which is best for your needs, and check out some of the supported game systems below.
The Apex Play is the keenest priced of the three. It’s the ideal multiplay arcade for the casual gamer who wants access to a vast range of games. You can access over 8,000 games from this machine, from arcade classics to console hits. And you can add extra controls like light guns, joypads and more. With two physical USB interfaces, you can easily load games into the machine from systems including PC Engine, NeoGeo, Sega Master System and even MAME emulators.
Where the Play saves on cost is due to its lack of multimedia capability. It’s a pure gaming machine. If you’re looking for a machine with multimedia potential, consider the Apex Media.
The Apex Media is the internet-ready multimedia option. It runs a much more powerful PC than the Play, with an i3 dual-core PC and 2TB hard drive at its core. This allows it to play thousands of games - up to 25,000, if you like - from consoles, arcades, emulators and much more. The games look spectacular and move like water, thanks to the Nvidia graphics card. It also has a built-in DVD-RW and four USB ports, as well as a wireless keyboard and mouse so you can run your Windows programs directly from the machine. Add your own controls, including light guns and joypads, to customise your gaming experience.
It’s possibly the perfect gaming and media machine, capable of becoming your new home entertainment centrepiece. But if it isn’t quite ticking all the boxes, then only the Elite will do.
Built around a tech-head’s dream shopping list, the Apex Elite features a quad-core i7 PC at its heart. 4TB of storage means you’ll never fill it up, and the graphics are handled by a top-of-the-range Nvidia GeForce GTX card. Play games from a huge range of arcades and consoles, including newer generation consoles like the PS1, Dreamcast and Wii, and from emulators too. In total, over 50,000 games can be played on the Elite from 85 console and arcade systems, making it luxury overkill for any keen gamer.
With a Blu-Ray drive built in and Windows 10 OS, it can be further upgraded to work with external consoles, controllers and features. It comes with all the media features that the Media variant does, making it truly versatile and a real treat for any home games space.
Whichever model you choose, the cabinets are all equipped with the best in components. The high-def TFT screens are large at 20 inches square, which gives you the best display whether you’re playing a horizontal or vertical format game.
Add to that powerful 2.1 stereo sound (with subwoofer), built-in illuminated cooling fans for the processor, and arcade-standard controls including two joysticks and two sets of six fire buttons, and you can see why the Apex is the pinnacle of home arcade machines.
