Product Description
Relive those golden years of video gaming with the Evo arcade machine. It comes in three editions to suit your needs, whether you’re looking for a pure retro gaming machine or a home multimedia hub. Every Evo model is preloaded with Retro Cloud software, that allows you to stream and play thousands of classic video games on demand.
This allows you to access a whole range of game systems, including leading consoles, MAME titles and even a host of arcade classics. Hit the button below to see the systems accessible on each machine, and check out how the three versions differ in our features matrix.
The Play edition is made for gaming purists. You can instantly access over 8,000 games and play them via Retro Cloud, which streams the games directly into your machine as you play. Gameplay is lightning-fast and lag-free, and you’ll find all your favourites from systems including the Sega Master System, NeoGeo, PC Engine and plenty of MAME hits too.
Whilst the Evo Play is more than enough machine for any keen gamer, it lacks some of the multimedia features of its siblings. If you need full multimedia functionality, take a look at the Evo Media.
As a home media hub, the Evo Media is hard to beat. It’s equipped with a more powerful processor than the Play, running on a configurable Windows system. A keyboard and mouse are included so you can easily customise and run apps and programs, and a DVD-RW and Nvidia graphics card too. For gaming, the Media allows access to 25,000 different games via Retro Cloud - a huge list that includes all your favourites as well as thousands you’ll never have heard of.
The Media really does bring a host of new features to the table, and is highly customisable so that you can tailor it to suit your needs. But if only the best will do, then the top-drawer Evo Elite is the only choice.
The Elite is a powerhouse of retro gaming and multimedia potential. It’s driven by a lightning-fast quad-core i7 PC with 4TB of storage and a silky-smooth Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card. This enables it to do anything that the Play and Media versions can do, and additionally to run games from more modern consoles like the Sega Dreamcast and Playstation 2. Access to over 50,000 games via Retro Cloud means that you’ll never be bored with what’s on offer from the Evo Elite.
It’s fully compatible with a number of third-party consoles, controllers and accessories. It’s possibly the ultimate home gaming system.
Where the Evo comes into its own among home arcade machines is its massive 28-inch high-definition screen, which gives players a cinematic game experience. Simply plug in, switch on, and the machine boots straight to the game menu. True arcade-standard controls and buttons give the best response, and are mounted in a carefully-angled console that’s suitable for hours of use. A powerful 2.1 sound system does justice to all your favourite game music and sound effects, and sumptuous finishing makes it look and feel like the premium arcade that it is.
Don’t just take our word for it - ask Warner Bros, who commissioned a special batch of Evo Elites for the UK launch of Mortal Kombat 9. With the Elite, the clue really is in the name.
