Product Description
Dungeons & Dragons fans rejoice! The most popular tabletop gaming legend ever celebrates its 50th anniversary this year - and Stern Pinball are commemorating with this awesome machine! It takes all the best aspects of the game and transfers them into a complex, campaign-driven ruleset played not with dice, but on a feature-rich interactive playfield.
Choose your character to start the game - initially as Paladin, Wizard, Cleric or Rogue, but with more characters to be unlocked later. Then enter the playfield, where you'll explore 10 different locations and battle over 45 enemies. Collect points and trinkets as you travel, avoid the traps and roam Arabel and Westgate, fighting for the honour and survival of the Dragonshield Guild. It's Dungeons & Dragons, but not as you know it!
The centrepiece of the playfield has to be Rath the Relentless! This enormous, dangerous dragon is fully interactive, with multidirectional impact-sensing technology, full motion including in reaction to ball strikes, blazing eyes and the ability to spit pinballs from its mouth! Then trigger the spooky Rising Dungeon, which captures your ball and pulls you into the immersive Dungeon Crawl feature. Build up multiballs by sticking them into the gelatinous cube, or enter the Tiny Tavern with its opto spinner 'Game of Chance'.
Multiple ramps offer meaningful and diverse ways to travel the playfield. There are three, including Mountain Passage, The Bridge and Road To Town. Each transports your pinball to another area, where you'll find multiple targets, bumpers and special features to attack. Various ball hold and capture features allow you to pause and consider choices on how your campaign should proceed, meaning a level of depth that's almost unheard of in a pinball machine ever before.
With 21 different campaign modes to explore, you'll be kept busy! Each campaign has its own back story and a variety of different endings, depending on the choices you make. A map-based navigation of Faerun allows you to travel to 10 locations, where you can battle enemies, complete quests and collect trinkets. The Dungeon Crawls are special levels, pathways that shift and change on a weekly basis. It's confusing and addictive in equal measures!
The Dungeon Crawls aren't the only things that change. You'll find treasure chest contents changing, as well as stocks at Fizmo stores and more. These change weekly, ensuring that the game never gets 'samey'. As you play, you can unlock more features - the player characters Ranger, Barbarian, and Bard, and a range of exciting Multiball modes including gelatinous cube and Dragon Multiball, which ramps up the intensity as you play for a truly frenetic, immersive experience. Save your campaign progress and return to it at any time using the PinSave feature, which gives this pinball a uniquely long-term appeal. There's even a multiplayer 'Cooperative' game mode for when a bunch of you want to play together. The complexity of The Tyrant's Eye is hugely impressive, and does absolute justice to the original legend.
Stern's Insider Connected platform is built into The Tyrant's Eye. This connects your machine with the global Stern network, allowing for progress tracking and the unlocking of new Achievements, missions and more. You'll even get special badges and extras, plus any necessary firmware updates in future.
And with Insider Connected, you can open your PinSaved games on any The Tyrant's Eye machine anywhere in the world. So you can continue your quest, alone or with friends, from anywhere in the world that has a machine.
Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant's Eye is available in three different versions; Pro, Premium and Limited Edition. They feature similar gameplay across all three platforms, however certain playfield exclusives in the Premium and Limited Edition versions are not included with the Pro version.
